COD Athletics Announces Partnership with Uber Eats
As the new 2022-23 intercollegiate seasons quickly approaches, College of the Desert Athletics is excited to announce the game-changing partnership with Uber Eats to provide student-athletes with meals for away contests starting this week.
"Food insecurity is a big focus of ours when it comes to the wellbeing of our student-athletes." said Andree Pacheco, Director of Kinesiology and Athletics. "Bringing Uber Eats onboard with us we will go a long way in setting up our student-athletes for success as they compete in their sport. Given our location, our teams travel long distances on a regular basis so this collaboration will not only provide them the flexibility to choose what they want to eat based off their dietary needs but also save them time as they can place orders on the go and have meals ready when it's convenient for them. Ultimately we want to ensure they are feed and return back to campus as soon as possible so they can then proceed in taking care of their other responsibilities that come with being a full-time student."
Uber Eats is a food delivery platform that makes getting great food from your favorite local restaurants as easy as requesting a ride. The Uber Eats app connects you with a broad range of local restaurants and food, so you can order from the full menus of your local favorites when you want.
