Bio

Andree Pacheco was announced as the Director of Kinesiology and Athletics in March of 2022. Previous to his position at College of the Desert, Pacheco was the Director of Student Development and Athletics at Compton College. Under his leadership College of the Desert has earned the following accolades:

During his tenure thus far with College of the Desert, he has made significant upgrades including partnerships with Under Armour, Uber Eats, Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL Hockey Team), YMCA-Palm Desert, eTeamsSponsor, HomeTown Ticketing, and Stacked Sports. Additionally, he has gone to create the college's first-ever Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) where student-athlete leaders can contribute input into athletic operations, the Athletic Director's Honor Roll to recognize student-athlete academic accomplishments, Student-Athletes of the Month recognitions, and the Roadrunner Snack Pantry as well as led the efforts in the new Athletics Website redesign. Currently, along with his duties with College of the Desert he also serves as the CCCAA Management Council Football Representative, SCFA American Metro League President, IEAC President, IEAC Softball Athletic Director Representative, and is member of the California Community College Athletic Directors Association (CCCADA).

While at Compton, Pacheco oversaw student activities on campus, including but not limited to student government, student clubs and organizations, commencement, student discipline, student recruitment, and the intercollegiate athletic program. In athletics he supervised all aspects of the athletic programs as they relate to game management, facilities, schedules, athletic eligibility, physical examinations, equipment, transportation, insurance, sports information, and risk management.

During his tenure as director at Compton College, he reestablished the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field teams and started the Women's Volleyball program, bringing the total number of active athletic teams to an all-time high at Compton College with 13. In addition, he has led the effort in creating an Intercollegiate Esports course and program. He also went on to create the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.) to provide student-athlete input and representation in department operations. Pacheco also led the new partnership between the St. John's Health Center and the athletics department to provide free physical examinations to student-athletes year round for the first time ever at Compton College. Additionally, Pacheco established a game changing partnership with Uber Eats by pioneering a new effort to provide student-athlete meals for away contests on Uber Eats starting in the 2021-2022 academic year, making Compton College the first college in the nation to do so.

Prior to Compton College, Pacheco worked for Major League Baseball in which he oversaw collegiate and recruiting efforts and assisted with vocational and youth baseball programming.

Pacheco graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Recreation Management from CSUN and received his Master's of Arts in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
