2019 Season in Review - COD Football

Under sixth-year head coach Jack Steptoe, Desert finished the regular season with an overall record of 2-8 and a conference record of 1-4.

Freshman linebacker Isaiah Sierra (Tucson (AZ) Empire) was named first team All-American Division-Mountain Conference as he racked up 33 assists on the season, ranking him top 30 in the state in assists. Sierra also ranked 51st in the state in tackles, with 63 total tackles collected this season. Sierra's best game was on November 2cnd at Victor Valley, where he grabbed four solo tackles and four assists in Deserts 35-20 loss against the Rams.

Also receiving first team All-American Division-Mountain Conference was sophomore corner Maquail Al-Mantaser (Goldsboro (NC) Rosewood) as he finished his Roadrunner career with a total of 34 solo tackles and 17 assists on the season. Al-Mantaser's best game was a home game on October 19th against Citrus, where he collected five solo tackles and three assists.

Sophomore wide receiver Franklin Miller (Palm Springs H.S.) was named second team all All-American-Mountain Conference with a total of 18 points collected on the season. Miller also led the team with 32 reception and carried the ball for 356 yards. In their October 19th victory over Citrus, Miller had his best game with a total of four receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown.

Freshman defensive end Tyrell Harvey (Springfield (MO) Central) and freshman defensive line Toney Davis (Rockford (AL) Central of Coosa County) were also named second team all All-American-Mountain Conference. Harvey ranked top 50 in the conference for total tackles, with 29 assists and 16 solo tackles for a total of 45 tackles. In his first year at Desert, Davis finished the season with a total of 21 assists and seven solo tackles.
