PALM DESERT, Calif. - College of the Desert men's basketball made multiple runs at their impending deficit, but came up short in a 97-85 loss against visiting Citrus College on Wednesday evening in Palm Desert.
Freshman William Brown (Animo Los Angeles HS) was stellar in leading the Roadrunner offense, as he scored 26 points and recorded 13 rebounds. Fellow freshman, Gabe Solache (Morningside HS) added 11 points and two assists, while sophomore Zach Waites (Palm Springs HS) scored 10 to go along with seven rebounds.
As a team, COD shot 47.6% (30-63) from the floor, including 40.0% (8-20) from three-point range. They accumulated 45 total rebounds, and combined for 15 assists.
College of the Desert (2-5) travels to the Grossmont tournament this weekend, as they open with LA Southwestern on Friday evening at 8 p.m.
