COD Men’s Basketball has 2 named All-Conference

COD Men's Basketball players, Dajuan "Slim" Fulgham and Philippe Salawa, were named All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Under the tutelage of veteran coach Henry Viveros, in his 11th season at the helm, Desert Men's Basketball ended the 2016-2017 season with a record of 4-22 overall and 1-9 in Conference, finishing sixth. 

On the court, sophomore forward Dajuan Fulgham (Montevallo, AL) was named second team all-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. He finished 1st in conference and 6th in the state with 58 total blocks on the season, Fulgham also finished 3rd on the team in points with 298. He finished 6th in Conference with a 71.9% free throw percentage and finished 5th in Conference with 191 total rebounds on the season. Fulgham had a season high 23 points twice in the 2016-17 season and both times were at home and both games were against the same opponent, Palomar. He collected six double-double games this past season and had a season high five blocks against Palomar on December 21st.

Named honorable mention was freshman guard Philippe Salawa (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller). Salawa finished 10th in Conference in points per game with a 13.1 average and finished 2nd on the team in points with 315. From January 25th to February 8th, he had 20 or more points in each of the four games over that period.
