COD Men’s Basketball hosts the Comets on Sophomore Night

COD (1-22, 0-10) ended their 2018 season with a celebratory Sophomore Night, welcoming in the Palomar Comets (16-13, 6-4), but the home side fell, 106-77.

Desert had three of their five starters in double figures and sophomore starting guard Philippe Salawa (Fontana AB Miller) collected his fifth double-double of the season with a solid night of 18 points on 6 of 20 shooting, including going 4 of 9 from three-point range and grabbing 13 total boards. He would also lead the team with three blocks on the night.

Freshman starting guard Andre Allen (Chino Don Lugo) led the team with 22 points, on 7 of 23 shooting, including going 4 of 13 from beyond the arc, and leading the team with six assists and two steals.

Sophomore starting guard Weijie Zhang (Beijing, China) got in on the action with 10 points on 4 of 10 shooting, going 2 of 6 from three-point range and freshman forward Joseph Fowler (Rohnert Park Rancho Cotate) was the leading scorer off of the bench, adding 11 points, shooting 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.

Tonight's game was Sophomore Night and the final game for the 2018 season for both teams.
