2017-18 Season in Review - COD Men's Basketball

COD Men's Basketball sophomore guard Philippe Salawa (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller) and freshman guard Andre Allen (Chino Don Lugo) were named honorable mention All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Under the tutelage of veteran coach Henry Viveros, in his 12th season at the helm, Desert Men's Basketball ended the 2017-2018 season with a record of 1-22 overall and 0-10 in Conference, finishing sixth.

On the court, Salawa collected five double-doubles throughout the season and seven games of 20 points or more. He finished second on the team in scoring, with 358 points, finished second in assists, with 53, and led the team in total rebounds, with 146. Salawa was named honorable mention last season as well. He scored a season high 36 points on January 12 at home against MiraCosta.

Allen was a scoring machine, scoring 20 points or more nine times and set a team high for individual scoring for the 2017-18 season, scoring 40 points at home on February 7th against the Miramar Jets. He led the team in points with 385, visiting the free throw line 135 times and connecting on 103 of those attempts, leading the team in attempts and percentage from the charity stripe.
