COD Men's Basketball sophomore starting guard Weijie Zhang (Beijing, China) has signed a letter of intent with the San Diego Christian College. 

The 6-1, 175 pound guard from Carlsbad Army-Navy High School and nicknamed "Kevin," played in 18 games this past season, starting 15 of those games and averaging 8.7 points per game. Zhang had nine games where he scored in the double digits, with his best game taking place on November 18 at the Neil Edwards Classic at Citrus College, where Zhang scored 20 points.

San Diego Christian College is located in Santee, California which is about 15 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. The SDC Hawks play their home games at Grossmont College and the team is coached by 4th year veteran head coach, Edgar Mendez. In 2017-18 season, the Hawks concluded the year with a 4-19 overall record and a 1-13 record in Conference play, finishing eighth. The Hawks are in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) of the NAIA.
