COD Men’s Basketball: Skipper leads with 20 in hard loss to the Raiders, 83-74

COD (2-2) fought hard in their first head-to-head home game of the 2018 season as they fell in the closing minutes to the Moorpark College Raiders (4-3), 83-74.

Freshman guard Sam Skipper (Perris H.S.) would lead the team with 20 points and had seven rebounds and four assists. Skipper was able to connect four of his nine three-point shots, leading the team in three-pointers made.

Sophomore guard Riley Welch (Littleton (CO) Chatfield) was able to make his way on the board scoring 13 points and found his teammates for five assists.

Coming off the bench for the Roadrunners, freshman forward Kristopher Howard (Palm Springs H.S) was able to make an impact for Desert by scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds.

The Roadrunners were able to out-rebound the Raiders, collecting a total 38 rebounds and were able to force 15 turnovers. Every player on Desert scored and all but one collected a rebound.
