COD Men’s Basketball falls to Wolverines after slow start, 92-62

Unfortunately, Desert lost "The Battle of the Boards," 56 to 33 and "The War on the Floor," by shooting less than 30% from the field and only 5 of 32 from three-point range, but the Wolverines defense was relentless and each time the Roadrunners received an advantage in the first half San Bernardino Valley had a response. In the second half, that changed quite a bit as Desert would pressure the Wolverines offense into 20 turnovers and the Roadrunners would grab 11 steals.

Sophomore starting forward Nicholas Pete (Hemet Tahquitz) led the team with 11 points on 5 of 9 shooting and three blocked shots and freshman guard Christian Briceno (Indio H.S.) would lead all bench scorers with 11 points, going a perfect 5 for 5 from the free-throw line.

Freshman forward Kristopher Howard (Palm Springs H.S) added nine points off of the bench on 3 of 5 shooting and sophomore starting guard Gunnar Mogolis (Palm Desert H.S.) would lead the team in assists (4) and steals (5).
