COD Men’s Basketball: Mogolis and Ogrodnick sign with Westcliff

COD Men's Basketball sophomores, guard Gunnar Mogolis and forward Anthony Ogrodnick have signed letters of intent with Westcliff University.

Under head coach Trent Skinner, in his inaugural season, COD Men's basketball finished the 2018-2019 season with an overall record of 14-14 and a conference record of 5-5, the best finish since the 2007-2008 season. Desert ended the regular season in fourth place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, barely missing a bid for post season play.

Mogolis, standing at 6-4 and weighing in at 164 pounds, is a Coachella Valley native, graduating from Palm Desert High School. He finished the season with a 72.7 percentage at the free throw line and collected a total of 264 points for the Roadrunners. Mogolis averaged a solid 9.6 points per game on the season. His best game was on November 21st at Rio Hondo, where he played an integral role in Desert's win by going 4-7 beyond the arch, collecting a total of 18 points and had 9 rebounds.

Ogrodnick, the 6-5, 215 pound forward, hails from Lafayette, Colorado, where he attended Centaurus High School. In his second season as at Desert, Orgodnick helped the COD Men's basketball team finish their first .500 season in over a decade. His best game was on December 29th against LA Harbor, where he put seven points on the board, helping seal the victory for the Roadrunners.

Westcliff University is a private University that is located in Irvine, with a population of 1368 students enrolled in 2017. They provide both undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields such as Business Administration and Education. The Warriors Men's Basketball team is coach by James Larson and his assistant coach, Sang Nam.
