COD Men’s Golf grabs 2nd place finish in Beaumont

COD Men's Golf participated in their seventh event of the 2018 season at the second event for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, as the team finished in 2nd place out of 5 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its seventh event, which was hosted at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon – Champions Course in Beaumont. Desert would finish with 393 points, 7 strokes behind first place finisher, Mt. San Jacinto.

The conditions were very windy and brisk, but freshman Eric Pizzulli (Old Bridge, NJ) tied his season best from just a week ago, as he shot a 75 tying with two other golfers for top honors.

Sophomore Bobby Kim (South Korea) hit near his season average, shooting a strong four-over 76 and freshman Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) shot a six-over 78.

Freshman Nicklaus Marshall (Bermuda Dunes) hit a nine-over 81 and sophomore Samuel Berglund (Victoria (AUS) Rowville Secondary College) wrapped up the top six for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance at The Westin Mission Hills - Gary Player Course in Rancho Mirage on Wednesday, March 21 as they continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.
