COD Men’s Golf snags win at San Marcos, Bogaert finishes 1st

COD Men's Golf participated in their tenth event of the 2018 season at the fifth event for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, as the team finished in 1st place out of 4 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its seventh event, which was hosted by Palomar College at the Par-71, St. Mark Golf Club in San Marcos. Desert would finish with 367 points, 10 strokes ahead of second place finisher, Palomar.

Freshman Joseph Bogaert (Ghent (BE) Sint-Barbara College) led the way for the Roadrunners, medaling by tying for first with a strong par 71. This was Bogaert's best score since shooting a 2-under 70 at The Westin Mission Hills - Gary Player Course on March 21st.

Sophomore Bobby Kim (South Korea) shot a fantastic two-over 73 and freshman Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) rebounded nicely from earlier in the week, shooting 11 strokes lower than his effort on Monday, nailing a two-over 73.

Freshman Nicklaus Marshall (Bermuda Dunes) hit a very good three-over 74 and sophomore Samuel Berglund (Victoria (AUS) Rowville Secondary College) dropped four strokes off his effort on Monday, by shooting a five-over 76.

Freshman Eric Pizzulli (Old Bridge, NJ) wrapped up the top six for the Roadrunners, shooting a 17-over 88.

COD will make their next appearance at The S at Rancho Mirage formally known as "Desert Island Country Club" on Friday, March 30 as they participate in a match play event, taking on the top team in NCAA Division 3, the University of St. Thomas (MN) Tommies.
