COD Men’s Golf finishes 6th at Whittier

COD Men's Golf participated in their second event of the 2019 season, as the team finished in 6th place out of 14 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its second event, which was hosted at the par-70, Candlewood Country Club in Whittier. Desert would finish with 401 points, 31 strokes behind winner, Reedley.

Sophomore Michael Choma (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore Maxime Faure (Deauville (FR) Lycee Andre Malraux) led the way for the Roadrunners, nailing a 5-over, 77 on the afternoon.

Sophomore Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) followed that up with an impressive 9-over, 81 in his first event of 2019. Sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.) and freshman Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) came in right behind Heurtin scoring an 11-over, both shooting their best golf of the season so far.

Freshman Josh Lumgair (Calgary (AB) Academy) shot 15-over, 87 in his first event of 2019.

COD will make their next appearance at the Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan in El Cajon at the Cuyamaca Classic on Monday, February 11.
