COD Men’s Golf finishes 2nd in Rancho Mirage, Faure ties for 2nd overall

COD Men's Golf completed their first home match of 2019, at the 72-par Gary Player Golf Course in Rancho Mirage, taking second place out of five teams.

Desert sent five athletes to participate in the fifth event of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, taking second with a total of 386 points, 13 points behind the winner and conference leader, Palomar.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners, sophomore Maxime Faure (Deauville (FR) Lycee Andre Malraux) posted his best score of the 2019 season and tied for second overall, with a one-over 73. Sophomore Michael Choma (La Quinta H.S.) also collected his personal best and grabbed sole possession of third overall, with an impressive score of two-over 74.

Both freshman Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) and sophomore Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) recorded a four-over 76. Wrapping up the day for Desert, freshman Landon Stellingwerff (Calgary, AB Central Memorial) posted a 21-over 93.

COD will make their next appearance at the El Camino Country Club in beautiful Oceanside, for PCAC event No.6, on Monday, March 25th.
