COD Men’s Golf snags 8th place at SoCal Preview, Choma ties for 5th at 1-under

COD Men's Golf completed their 14th match of 2019, at the par-72 Los Serranos Country Club - North Course in Chino Hills, taking fifth place out of 16 teams.

Desert sent six athletes to participate in the final non-Conference event of the season, taking eighth with a total of 382 points, one stroke behind Irvine Valley and 25 behind the tournament champion, Orange Coast.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners, sophomore Michael Choma (La Quinta H.S.) posted his best score of the 2019 season and snagging four-way tie for fifth place overall, with a one-under par 71. Sophomore Maxime Faure (Deauville (FR) Lycee Andre Malraux) also posted his third best score of 2019 and snagging ninth overall, with a par 72.

Close behind Choma and Faure, was teammate sophomore Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA), who kept within his strong season average of a three-over 74.

Freshman Josh Lumgair (Calgary (AB) Academy) hit a 10-over 82 and sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.) wrapped up the top five for the Roadrunners with an 83.

Freshman Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) returned to the clubhouse with an 87.

The Roadrunners will return to Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play on Wednesday, April 10 at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan hosted by Cuyamaca College.
