COD Men’s Golf snags 1st place at El Cajon‎, Lumgair & Choma grab 1-2

COD Men's Golf completed their 15th match of 2019, at the par-72 Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen Course in El Cajon, taking 1st place.

Desert sent six athletes to participate in their eighth Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) event of the season, taking first with a total of 367 points, 18-strokes ahead of conference leader, Palomar. This is the third Conference tournament title this season for the Roadrunners, as they have grabbed back-to-back first place finishes and find themselves only one win back of the Palomar Comets for the title with two matches to play.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners, freshman Josh Lumgair (Calgary (AB) Academy) posted his best score of the 2019 season and snagged the individual title, as he nailed a two-under par, 70. Lumgair's best score up to this point had been a four-over 76, a score he's achieved three times this season.

Sophomore Michael Choma (La Quinta H.S.) was right behind Lumgair, tying his season best with a one-under 71.

Sophomore Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) finished right in his seasonal average, hitting a very good three-over 75 and sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.) nailed his second best outing of 2019, also putting in a three-over 75.

Sophomore Maxime Faure (Deauville (FR) Lycee Andre Malraux) wrapped up the top five for the Roadrunners with a strong four-over 76 and freshman Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) returned to the clubhouse with a 9-over 81.

The Roadrunners will return to Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play on Wednesday, April 17 at The S at Rancho Mirage hosted by College of the Desert.
