PALM DESERT, Calif. - College of the Desert men's soccer surrendered tough goals at the end of each half, as they fell 2-0 to East Los Angeles this evening in Palm Desert.
COD nearly took the lead with the opening goal in the 25th minute when a shot from Carlos Rodriguez hit the crossbar following a scramble in front of the East L.A. net.
A close game that looked to be headed into the break in a scoreless tie, changed quickly when, in the last minute of the first, East Los Angeles scored on a header following a free kick. COD kept the score tight at 1-0, until the visitors broke through in the 86th minute with a goal that sealed the win.
Kosugi Masataka fired three shots for COD, while Jorge Sepulveda was strong in net with nine saves.
College of the Desert (0-2) returns to action next Tuesday, September 8 when they host Imperial Valley at 4 p.m.
