Palm Desert - COD Men's Soccer team was on the attack all day and neither Imperial Valley nor the wet and soggy conditions could slow them down. The Roadrunners had their opportunities in the first half with five scoring chances, but were unable to find the back of the net. After some adjustments at halftime, Desert took their attack to another level peppering the Imperial Valley goalie with 13 shots on goal in the second half. Mauricio Aref Abusabal got the Roadrunners on the board early in the second half with an unassisted goal at the 48:30 mark of the game. The game stayed that way until Masataka Kosugi found a cross from Matheus Silva Rego that he delivered into the back of the net. Seven minutes later it was Lucas Maia getting into the scoring column with an assist from Christian Raymundo Garcia to move the Roadrunners up 3-0. Rego would finish off the scoring on a penalty kick in the 87th minute. The game would end with COD prevailing 4-0 and getting their first win of the season. The team improves to 1-5-1 on the year and travels to Cuyamaca on Friday for their next match.
