COD (1-1) took on a season opening double header, on the back half of the double header they traveled to the Ventura Pirates (1-0), falling to the Pirates, 8-1.

Freshman Kyryll Kryvchurn (Vancouver (BC) Learning Network) took his first set into extras, rallying back to win 7-5 and then crushed his opponent in the second set, 6-1.

Freshman Brian Johnson (Palm Springs H.S.), sophomore Dimitrije Vukovic (Burnaby (BC) Moscrop Secondary), sophomore Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ), freshman Elvis Leon-Soriano (Indio Shadow Hills) and sophomore Joau Luiz Zillo Prado (São Paulo (Brazil) Ateneu) all fell in straight sets.

Kryvchurn and Vukovic fell in a hotly contested match, 8-6 and the Johnson and Dvorken doubles match was a hard fought 8-1 loss. Desert fell, 8-0, in the final doubles match, featuring sophomore Marcus Simon (Twentynine Palms H.S.) and Leon-Soriano.

Ventura defeated College of the Desert 8-1, in a PCAC men's tennis dual match played at Ventura College.
