COD (2-1) concluded their non-Conference schedule with a convincing victory on the road at the Saddleback Gauchos (2-2), 6-3.

In doubles play, freshman Kyryll Kryvchun (Vancouver (BC) Learning Network) and freshman Brian Johnson (Palm Springs H.S.) won their match easily, as they cruised to an 8-1 win. Sophomore Dimitrije Vukovic (Burnaby (BC) Moscrop Secondary) and sophomore Joau Luiz Zillo Prado (São Paulo (Brazil) Ateneu) fought hard, but fell short, falling in their match 8-5. Sophomore Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ) and freshman Joshua Bailin (La Quinta H.S.) took part in a back-and-forth match, fighting back to win their doubles match, 9-7.

Head coach Ken Thomas commented, "Team looks good. They're starting to hit their stride. Everything seems to be in place to have a very successful year. Day by day."

In singles play, Prado won his match in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0 and Kryvchurn also won his match in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-1, remaining undefeated in singles play, 3-0 so far this season. Vukovic won his match in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1 and Johnson fell in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2. Dvorken won his singles match in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-3 and sophomore Marcus Simon (Twentynine Palms H.S.) lost his match in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-1.

Desert defeated Saddleback 6-3, in a non-Conference match at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.
