COD Men’s Tennis remains undefeated in PCAC, shooting down the Eagles, 9-0

COD (6-1; 4-0) came out victorious today, sweeping the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (1-5; 1-3) on the road, as the Roadrunners cruised to another Pacific Coast Athletic Conference win, 9-0.

Sophomore Dimitrije Vukovic (Burnaby (BC) Moscrop Secondary) continued his unbeaten streak in singles play, where he is 7-0, struggling in his first set, losing 5-7, but found his groove early in the second set, winning 6-1, before going to a grueling third set to win the game, 10-6. Freshman Brian Johnson (Palm Springs H.S.) battled in a close game, winning in straight sets, 5-7 and 6-4.

Sophomore Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ), Sophomore Joau Luiz Zillo Prado (São Paulo (Brazil) Ateneu), freshman Joshua Bailin (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore Marcus Simon (Twentynine Palms) all triumphed in straight sets.

In doubles play, Prado and Vukovic handily won, 8-1. The duo of Dvorken and Bailin won, 8-4 while the final pairing of Johnson and freshman Elvis Leon-Soriano (Indio Shadow Hills) won 8-2.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be on March 2nd at 2p, where they will host the Riverside City Tigers in non-Conference play.

Desert defeated Mt. San Jacinto College 9-0, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match at Mt. San Jacinto College in San Jacinto.
