COD Men’s Tennis persistent in Conference play, defeating the Arabs, 9-0

COD (7-2; 5-0) tallied another win in doubles and singles play as the Roadrunners took a Conference win over the Imperial Valley Arabs (1-6; 1-3), 9-0.

Freshman Kyryll Kryvchun (Vancouver (BC) Learning Network) continued his unbeaten streak in singles play, where he is 8-0, handily taking the win in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1.

Sophomore Dimitrije Vukovic (Burnaby (BC) Moscrop Secondary), freshman Brian Johnson (Palm Springs H.S.) and sophomore Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ) also won, skillfully in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.

Sophomore Marcus Simon (Twentynine Palms) followed the lead of Kryvchun, defeating his opponent, 6-0 and 6-1.

Freshman Joshua Bailin (La Quinta H.S.) won in a walkover.

In doubles play, Kryvchun and Johnson proved their ability, winning 8-0. Bailin and partner, freshman Elvis Leon-Soriano (Indio Shadow Hills), also showed impressive skill, winning 8-1, while the Roadrunners' other doubles match was won in a walkover.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be on March 13th at 2p, where they will continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference-North Division (PCAC-North) by playing the Grossmont Griffins of El Cajon.

Desert defeated Imperial Valley College today, 9-0 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
