COD Men's Tennis claims another win against a D3 University, 5-3

COD (11-1; 9-0) downs their second Division III competition, the University of Santa Cruz (3-7) in seven matches.

In singles play for Desert, sophomore Kalman Boyd (Solana Beach Fusian Academy) grabbed the first win in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3. Freshman Manfred Vogt (Mexico City (MX) went the distance, claiming the victory in an extra set, 7-5, 3-6, and 10-4. In another tough run, freshman Saar Rogovski (Rosh HaAyin (ISR) Menachem Begin) also took the match in an extra set, 5-7, 6-3, and 10-8. Freshman Alex Kuperstein (Palm Desert H.S.) sealed the win and placed Desert in a 4-1 lead going into doubles.

With Desert needing a single victory to claim the team win, the team of boyd and kuperstien outpaced the Banana Slugs, 8-3.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be at home on March 26th, at 2p, where they will continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play against the Palomar Griffins.
