COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 27th at the SoCal Preview

COD entered their second event of the 2017 season at Central Park in Santa Clarita for the Southern California Championships Preview Meet, where the team finished 27th overall on the 4-mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 801 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in Santa Clarita was sophomore Jesus Garcia (Desert Hot Springs H.S.), collecting a 142nd place finish and a time of 25:34.7.

Right behind was sophomore Bryan Meyers (La Quinta H.S.) who finished 157th, collecting a time of 26:47.2 and freshman Christian Cardoza (Cathedral City H.S.), who crossed the finish line at 28:00.7, good enough for 165th place.

Freshman Christopher Figueroa (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped up a 168th place finish in his first event of the year, with a time of 29:31.6 and sophomore Jose Verdejo (Cordoba (Spain) I.E.S. Séneca) wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 29:31.8, finishing 49 seconds faster than his previous best, placing 169th.

Sophomore Albert Blanco (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Miguel Espinola (Palm Desert H.S.) finished 170th and 177th for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
