COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 9th at Palomar Invitational

COD opened the 2019 season at Guajome Regional Park in Oceanside for the Palomar Invitational, where the team finished 9th overall on the 4-mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 227 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in Oceanside was freshman Dominick Jahnig (La Quinta, H.S.), collecting a 32nd place finish and a time of 24:17.

Freshman Leonel Benitez (La Quinta Summit) finished 44th, collecting a time of 25:22 and sophomore David Hernandez (La Quinta, H.S.) crossed the finish line at 26:21, well enough for 47th place.

Right on Hernandez's heels was freshman Esahi Bravo (Indio H.S.) wrapped up a 49th place finish with a time of 26:36 and sophomore Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.), dropped over three minutes from his previous course best wrapping up the top five for COD with a time of 27:03, finishing in 55th place.

Sophomore Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Ezequiel Alvarez (Thermal Coachella Valley) finished 59th and 61st respectively for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
