COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 4th at Coach Downey XC Classic

COD entered their fourth event of the 2019 season at Morley Field in San Diego for the Coach Downey XC Classic finishing 4th place.

The Roadrunners finished with 92 points and the first Roadrunner to cross the finish line was freshman Dominick Jahnig (La Quinta, H.S.) with a 10th place finish and a time of 23:33, dropping 20 seconds off of his season best.

Sophomore David Hernandez (La Quinta, H.S.) finished with a time of 24:09, dropping 25 seconds off of his season best, placing 17th. Right behind him, in 18th place, was freshman Leonel Benitez (La Quinta Summit) with a time of 24:14, shedding 21 seconds off of his season best.

On Benetiz's heels was freshman Esahi Bravo (Indio H.S.), finishing with a time of 24:52, good enough for 20th place and sophomore Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.) wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 26:08, good enough for 27th place.

Sophomore Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.) crossed the line with a time 26:34 and not far behind him was freshman Ezequiel Alvarez (Thermal Coachella Valley) 27:05. Freshman Albert Salomon (Rancho Mirage H.S.) crossed with a time of 28:05 and freshman Sebastian Melendres (Palm Desert H.S.) finished with a time of 28:40. Sophomore Guillermo Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished the race with a time of 33:51.
