COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 8th in Cerritos Falcons Invitational

COD entered their 5th event of the 2019 season at Don Knabe Park in Cerritos for the Cerritos Falcons Invitational where they finished 8th.

Desert finished with 186 points with all five starters dropped their season best times. Crossing the line first for the Roadrunners was freshman Dominick Jahnig (La Quinta, H.S.) in 37th place, with a time of 22:32.74, dropping his time by one full minute, for a new season best.

Finishing behind him was sophomore David Hernandez (La Quinta, H.S.) in 45th place, with a time of 22:58.63 also dropping his time by 71 seconds for a season best. Freshman Leonel Benitez (La Quinta Summit) finished the race in 48th place, dropping 69 seconds from his season best with a time of 23:05.31.

Sophomore Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.) in 72nd place, with a time of 25:12.73 dropping 82 seconds off of his season best and right on Olson's heels was sophomore Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.) in 73rd place, with a time of 25:22.90 dropping 45 seconds off of his season best.

Finishing the race with a time of 26:04.94 was freshman Ezequiel Alvarez (Thermal Coachella Valley) and crossing the line after him was freshman Albert Salomon (Rancho Mirage H.S.) with a time of 26:44.13. Wrapping up the race for Desert was freshman Sebastian Melendres (Palm Desert H.S.) with a time of 28:46.65.
