COD (4-10) hosted a double header on a cloudy Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Valley Monarchs (12-6), falling in game one 13-2 and falling in game two 12-5.
In game one of the double header, freshman left fielder and leadoff hitter Nalacia Nelson (Beaumont H.S.) was a one woman wrecking crew, as she provided all of the offense for the Roadrunners, going 3 for 3 with a run scored and two runs batted in, including a home run shot in the bottom of the fifth.
Next home game for College of the Desert Softball will be Wednesday, March 14th at 3 p.m., where they will continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play by hosting the Palomar Comets of San Marcos. Hope to see you there.
