Daisy Macias was named softball assistant coach in September of 2018.

Daisy’s résumé includes (assistant) coaching the softball program at Rancho Mirage High School in 2017-18. During her time as part of the staff, she assisted creating a historic season for the Rattler’s with most wins in program history with 20, and a second place finish in the De-Anza League as well as reaching the CIF Division VI Quarterfinal game. She helped with both hitting and defense.

Daisy grew up in Cathedral City, CA and attended Cathedral City High School where she played softball. She was awarded MVP her senior year and for three consecutive years, was awarded best offense player.

After high school, Daisy attended College of the Desert and Mayville State University. Daisy was part of the softball team at College of the Desert in 2013-14 when Roadrunner’s softball team won Conference and Regional championships. She then transferred to Mayville State University where she continued her softball career. For the season of 2016-17, Daisy was awarded First Team NSAA All Conference. She ended her softball career with a batting average of .424 and led the NSAA in doubles. In addition, she finished in the top five in batting average, slugging percentage, doubles and triples.

After completing her bachelor’s degree from Mayville State University in 2017, Daisy returned to her hometown in Cathedral City. She plans on pursuing her master’s degree as a physician assistant.

Aside from coaching softball at College of the Desert, Daisy works as a substitute teacher and a nurse assistant.
