COD Women’s Golf takes 2nd at Ironwood, Liu finishes in 1st

COD Women's Golf participated in their fifth event of the 2017 season, as the team finished 2nd and sophomore Li Chi Liu (Palm Desert H.S.) collected a 1st place individual finish.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its third event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 14 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, the event was won by Cuyamaca College, and Desert would finish with 365 points.

Liu resumed her dominance from Monday, as she shot a five-over 77, which was four strokes better than her opponent from Cuaymaca College.

Freshman Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep.) shot an 89, which was two-under her effort on Wednesday and freshman Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot a 98.

Shooting a 101, and dropping five strokes from Wednesday was freshman Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley). Sophomore Alexa Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 114, and dropping three strokes from Wednesday to wrap up the day for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance in the North-South Invitational at Morro Bay Golf Course in Morro Bay on Sunday, September 24.
