COD Women’s Golf takes 2nd at Sycuan, Liu finishes in 1st

COD Women's Golf participated in their eighth event of the 2017 season, as the team finished 2nd and sophomore Li Chi Liu (Palm Desert H.S.) collected a 1st place individual finish.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its eighth event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 Sycuan Golf Resort in El Cajon.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 45 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, Palomar College. Cuyamaca won the event. Desert would finish with 339 points.

Liu resumed her dominance from the week before, as she shot a five-under 77.

Freshman Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep.) shot an 83, which was her best score since the Desert Classic on September 1st and 2nd and five-under her last PCAC event. Freshman Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot an 85, and just like Walker, presented her best score since the Desert Classic on September 1st and 2nd and shot five-under her last PCAC event.

Shooting a 99 was freshman Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley). Sophomore Alexa Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 112 to wrap up the day for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance in the sixth PCAC event for 2017, at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos on Wednesday, October 4.
