COD Women’s Golf wins at San Clemente, Liu finishes in 1st

COD Women's Golf participated in their tenth event of the 2017 season, as the team finished 1st and sophomore Li Chi Liu (Palm Desert H.S.) collected a 1st place individual finish.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its seventh event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 San Clemente Municipal Golf Course in San Clemente.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting one stroke ahead of their nearest competition, Cuyamaca College. Desert would finish with 352 points, which was 20 strokes better than their effort the week prior and their second best PCAC score of the season.

Liu resumed her dominance from the week before, as she shot a one-over 73, which was eight strokes better than her opponent from Cuyamaca College.

Freshman Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep.) shot an 83, which tied her best score of the PCAC schedule, finishing fourth overall. Freshman Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot a strong 93.

Shooting a 103 was freshman Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley). Sophomore Alexa Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 112 to wrap up the day for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance in the eighth PCAC event for 2017, at St. Mark Golf Club in San Marcos on Monday, October 16.
