COD Women’s Golf takes 2nd at Menifee Lakes, Walker & Liu finish 1st

COD Women's Golf participated in their tenth event of the 2017 season, as the team finished 2nd and both Zoe Walker and Li Chi Liu tied for a 1st place individual finish.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its eighth and final event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 Menifee Lakes Country Club in Menifee.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 26 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, Mt. San Jacinto College. Desert would finish with 333 points, which was 19 strokes better than their effort the week prior at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course and tied for their third best score of the season.

Freshman Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep.) impressed the field with her best individual performance of the PCAC schedule, tying her season best score of 77, which she shot in the final round of the Desert Classic on September 2nd. Liu resumed her season long dominance, as she shot also shot a five-over 77, which was three strokes better than her opponents from Palomar College and Cuyamaca College.

Freshman Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot an amazing 78, in her best individual performance of the entire season.

Shooting a 101 was freshman Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley). Sophomore Alexa Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 106, which was her third best performance of the season and best score of the PCAC season to wrap up the day for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance at the SoCal Regional Preview at Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula on Monday, October 23.
