COD received a breakout performance from freshman Dagmar Urbankova (Brno, Czech Republic), who rolled a course leading one-under, 71, on day two to help the team win their first tournament of 2018.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its second event, which was hosted at the par-72 Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs over a two-day period.

Three of the four Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) teams participated in this event, two Western State Conference teams, two Northern California teams, and two Orange Empire teams joined the fray as well.

Desert would finish with 642 points over the two-day tournament, 33 strokes ahead of second place finisher and host, Santa Barbara City. Impressively, the Roadrunners shaved off 38 strokes from their first day at the tournament to win. Desert had no one shoot less than 80 on day-one on the course and then on day two, had three players shoot 75 or lower.

Sophomore Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep) led the way for the Roadrunners in total score, shooting a 153. The score of 153 was identical to what she shot on week one at Ventura. Walker shot an eight-over 80 on day one and a one-over 73 on day two, placing her third overall and putting her on the All-Tournament team. Urbankova, nicknamed "Dasha," shot a 13-over 85 on day one and an impressive one-under 71 on day two to lead at the clubhouse, giving her a total score of 156 and a place on the All-Tournament team.

Sophomore Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot an 11-over 83 on day one and three-over 75 on day two, giving her a total of 158 to wrap-up the top six total scores at the tournament and placing her on the All-Tournament team.

Freshman Emma Sorenson (Vancouver (WA) Prairie) shot a 92 on day one and an 83 on day two and sophomore Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley) shot a 199 to wrap up the two day event for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance at Ironwood Country Club - North Course in Palm Desert on Wednesday, September 5 as they begin the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.
