COD Women’s Golf wins at Soboba Springs, Walker finishes 1st again

COD Women's Golf participated in their fourth event of the 2018 season, as the team won and sophomore Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep) collected a second straight 1st place individual finish.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its second event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 41 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, as Palomar finished with 365 points, Desert would finish with 324 points.

Walker resumed her dominance from the Desert Classic and the opening match of the PCAC schedule, as she shot a two-over 74, which was four-strokes better than her nearest competition, the top finisher from Palomar College.

Freshman Emma Sorenson (Vancouver (WA) Prairie) turned in her best round of 2018, shooting a nine-over, 81 and finishing third individually and teammate, freshman Dagmar Urbankova (Brno, Czech Republic) rolled an 84 to tie for fourth individually.

Sophomore Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) shot a strong 85 and sophomore Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped up the day for the Roadrunners, shooting a 102.

COD will make their next appearance in the third PCAC event for 2018, at Woods Valley Golf Club in Valley Center on Wednesday, September 12.
