COD Women’s Golf wins at Sycuan, Urbankova finishes 1st overall

COD Women's Golf participated in their ninth event of the 2018 season, as the team won and freshman Dagmar Urbankova (Brno, Czech Republic) collected her first individual 1st place event finish. 

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its sixth event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 Sycuan Golf Resort in El Cajon.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 38 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, as Palomar finished with 362 points, Desert would finish with 324 points. The Roadrunners finished with three of the top five finishers individually.

Urbankova turned in her third best individual performance of the season, shooting a 77 for five-over par and winning the individual title, finishing two-strokes ahead of teammate sophomore Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep), who shot a 79.

Freshman Lilyanna Rodriguez (Palm Desert H.S.) and sophomore Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) both shot a 12-over 84 to finish fifth individually.

Freshman Emma Sorenson (Vancouver (WA) Prairie) turned a in a 90 and sophomore Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped up the day for the Roadrunners, shooting a 96 for her third best finish of 2018.

COD will make their next appearance in the seventh PCAC event for 2018, at St. Mark Golf Club in San Marcos on Wednesday, October 3.
