COD Women’s Golf wins at St. Mark, Rodriguez finishes 1st overall again

COD Women's Golf participated in their tenth event of the 2018 season, as the team won and freshman Lilyanna Rodriguez (Palm Desert H.S) collected her second individual 1st place event finish.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its seventh event on the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) calendar, which was hosted at the par-72 St. Mark Golf Course in San Marcos.

All four PCAC teams participated in this event, with the Roadrunners hitting 54 strokes ahead of their nearest competition, as Cuyamaca finished with 375 points, Desert would finish with 321 points, thier third best team score of 2018. The Roadrunners finished with four of the top five finishers individually.

Rodriguez turned in her second best individual performance of the season, shooting a 79 for a seven-over par and winning the individual title.Teammate freshman Dagmar Urbankova (Brno, Czech Republic), who shot a really strong eight-over 80 on the day.

Sophmore Zoe Walker (Palm Desert Xavier Prep) and sophomore Natalie Brugler (Santa Cruz Soquel) both shot a 9-over 81 to tie for third individually.

Freshman Emma Sorenson (Vancouver (WA) Prairie) turned a in a 90 and sophomore Vivica Garcia (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped up the day for the Roadrunners, shooting a 102.

COD will make their next appearance in the eigth PCAC event for 2018, at Menifee Lakes Country Club in Menifee on Monday, October 15.
