COD Women’s Golf plays in 6th OEC event, team finishes 3rd

COD Women's Golf finished 3rd as two golfers set their season best with sophomore Demi Preece (Imperial H.S.) leading the way with an 82.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its ninth event. Desert traveled to their sixth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) event of the season, this time the event was at the par-72, Cottonwood Golf Course in El Cajon. Desert would finish with 343 points, which was 41 strokes ahead of fourth place finisher, Orange Coast. Saddleback would win the event with 327 points.

Preece led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting a 10-over, 82 and freshman Karla Garcia (Palm Desert H.S.) tied her best score of the season, shooting an 84. Sophomore Yvonne Pretorius (La Quinta H.S.) also tied her best score of the season, shooting an 87 and freshman Jensen Kelly (Imperial (SK) Imperial School) shot a 90. COD will make their next appearance at Fullerton Golf Club in Fullerton on Monday, October 17 as they continue OEC play.
