COD Women's Golf wins OEC match by one stroke

COD Women's Golf played in their second Conference match finishing 1st with sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) leading the way with an impressive 75, finishing tied for second individually.

This is the first Orange Empire Conference event win since October 2, 2019. The Roadrunners hosted the event at the par-71 Country Club at Ironwood in Palm Desert and had four players in attendence. The event was the first "cool" event in the desert as temperatures only climbed into the low 90's. Desert would win the event with 334 points, which was only 1 stroke ahead of second place finisher, the Mt. San Antonio Mounties of Walnut.

Veikune led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting an impressive 4-over 75, finishing tied for second individually. Freshman Kayla Speer (Yucaipa H.S.) finished with her best score of the season, dropping 10 strokes from her previous match, shooting a 5-over 76. Sophomore Jensen Kelly (Imperial (SK) School) shooting her second best score of the season, finishing with an 87. Sophomore Samantha Miller (Valley Center H.S.) wrapped up the morning with her best score of the season for a 96.
