COMPTON, Calif. - College of the Desert women's soccer picked up its third win of the season, as they defeated El Camino-Compton Center 2-1 yesterday afternoon in Compton.
Freshman forward Madison Decker (Palm Desert, CA/Aquinas HS) opened the game's scoring in the 62nd minute, when she finished a nice feed from freshman midfielder Monica Monay (Palm Desert, CA/Cathedral City HS).
El Camino-Compton Center tied the score in the 71st minute, but the Lady Roadrunners would strike back in the 80th minute. Decker fired a shot off the Compton Center goalkeeper, which was followed up and finished by sophomore midfielder Sarah Felix (Indio, CA/Shadow Hills HS).
Freshman goalkeeper Brianna Lazzarini (Indio, CA/La Quinta HS) made five saves in net for COD, as her offense fired 20 total shots.
College of the Desert (3-1-1) returns to the field this Friday, September 11 for their first home match of the 2015 season. The Lady Roadrunners take on San Diego Miramar at 7 p.m.
