PASADENA, Calif. - College of the Desert women's soccer improved to 7-4-1 on the season, as they defeated Providence Christian College 3-2 Saturday afternoon in Pasadena.
Sophomore defender Alyssa Lopez (Cathedral City, CA/Cathedral City HS) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when she burried a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Florangelica Coyote (Indio, CA/Shadow Hills HS).
Sophomore defender Karla Casillas (La Quinta, CA/La Quinta HS) scored in the 18th minute off a nice play from freshman forward Madison Decker (Palm Desert, Ca/Aquinas HS), while freshman midfielder Monica Monay's (Palm Desert, CA/Cathedral City HS) penalty kick in the 65th minute provided the game-winning goal.
College of the Desert returns to action Tuesday, October 6 when they travel to take on Taft at 1 p.m.
