COD Women's Soccer Wins at Palomar, 2-1

COD Women's Soccer Wins at Palomar, 2-1

COD Women's Soccer took to the road for the 2nd match in a row for PCAC North play as they traveled to San Marcos to take on Palomar College.

It was an early 11th minute goal by the Comets that put the Roadrunners in the mode of chasing the game. Only 11 minutes went by when freshman forward Savannah Cervantes (Rancho Mirage H.S.) scored her 1st collegiate goal after being set-up by a freshman defender Victoria Relerford (Rancho Mirage H.S.) cross into sophomore forward Jiana Guerrero (La Quinta H.S.) for the final pass. The game started to shift into the COD favor in terms of chances in the final 45 minutes but it was for sure a nail biter literally, after having lost 2-1, in the 89th minute to Cuesta on Sept 8th, COD had a flip of that, this time the Roadrunners would prevail. Just 10 days have passed since that disappointing result, so having that in old memory bank, COD returned the favor to Palomar. The GW goal came in the 89th minute with from freshman midfielder Shaden Arceo (Cathedral City H.S.) scoring her 1st collegiate goal, sophomore defender Alexi Mejia (La Quinta H.S.) & Relerford recorded the assist on Goal #2, and the final 57 minutes was a clean sheet in goal by freshman goal keeper Kaylin Eastman (Indio Shadow Hills). COD now stands at 3 - 3 overall and 2 - 0 in PCAC play.
