COD Women's Soccer Claims Team Ethics Award of Merit

COD Women's Soccer Claims Team Ethics Award of Merit

COD women's soccer has earned the Team Ethics Award of Merit decided by the Ethics Committee of the United Soccer Coaches Association of America.

This award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game that the Roadrunners showed during the 2018 season.

"This award demonstrates the many components there are to the game besides winning and losing," said Roadrunners head coach Garrett Estrin. "How we display ourselves on the field is extremely important. When the girls are out there on the field they are not only representing themselves and the program, but College of the Desert as a whole and the values and philosophy that it represents. Being recognized with this award demonstrates the quality of individuals we have in our Women's Soccer program."

The Roadrunners finished the 2018 season with a 9-8-3 overall and 5-3-2 in conference. Desert placed 2nd in the North Division, collecting the most team wins since 1999 as Estrin was elected PCAC-North Coach of the Year.
