COD Women's Tennis shoots down Eagles, 6-3
COD (2-1; 2-1) hosted another South Coast Conference (SCC) opponent, getting some great wins in their 1-4 teams, as the Roadrunners knocked off the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of San Jacinto (1-6; 0-4), 6-3.
In doubles play, the team of freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) won easily, 8-1. The team of freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Agustina Berrondo (Tucumán (ARG) Institute Hermanas Esclavas) took down the Eagles, 8-0. Mt. San Jacinto would win the third doubles match in a walkover.
In singles play, Shekinah Daffon and Berrondo only allowed a single point in their dominate victories against Mt. San Jacinto, downing their Eagles opponents in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1. Mazzotti and Emunah Daffon effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Jimenez fell in straight sets, 6-2 and 7-6 and the Eagles took the sixth singles match in a walkover.
The next match for College of the Desert Women's Tennis will be at home where they will continue South Coast Conference (SCC) play by hosting the El Camino Warriors of Torrance on March 8th at 2p.
College of the Desert defeated Mt. San Jacinto College, 6-3 in South Coast Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
