COD Women’s Tennis heads into Singles and Doubles State Championship

Desert just missed a chance at a State Title, falling to the eventual Champion in the SoCal Final, but this weekend, the Roadrunners attempt to grab the CCCAA Singles and Doubles Titles.

The Roadrunners will send the entire team, all four members, to Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.

On the singles side, kicking off the tournament on Friday, May 6th at 9 a.m. on court 3 will be freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) will take her #3 seed from the South and face off with the North #6 seed from the West Valley Vikings of Saratoga.

Should Shekinah advance, she will move onto the Round of 8 and face the winner of the El Camino Warriors #3 vs. the North #1 seed from the Chabot Gladiators of Hayward.

Later in the morning, freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) will take her #5 seed in the South and open up against the North #4 seed from the Sierra Wolverines of Rocklin.

Should Emunah advance, she will move onto the Round of 8 and face the winner of the North #8 seed from the West Valley Vikings vs. the South #1 seed from the Santa Monica Corsairs.

On the doubles side, all eyes will be on court 3 on Friday, May 6th at 3 p.m. as the team of Shekinah Daffon and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) will take their #3 seed from the South against the North #5 seed from the Modesto Pirates.

Should Shekinah and Mazzotti advance, they will move onto the Round of 8 and face the winner of the South #8 seed from the Orange Coast Pirates and the North #1 seed from the Chabot Gladiators.

The Desert pair of Emunah Daffon and freshman Agustina Berrondo (Tucumán (ARG) Institute Hermanas Esclavas) will take their #5 seed in the South and open up with the #4 seed from the North, a doubles pair from the College of the Sequoias Giants of Visalia.

Should Emunah and Berrondo advance, they will move onto the Round of 8 and face the winner of the North #8 seed from the American River Beavers of Sacramento and the South #1 seed from the Santa Monica Corsairs.
