COD Women's Volleyball sophomore outside hitter Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) has signed a letter of intent with the Dickinson State Blue Hawks.

The 2018 season was the seventh year for co-head coaches Marion Champion and Detlev Rothe as Desert ended the season with a record of 20-5 overall and 7-3 in Conference, the first season since 2007 to collect 20 or more wins, finishing third.

COD (20-4) with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance, struggled with a team they had swept twice already this season, but after a rough 2nd and 4th sets, prevailed in the 5th, as the Roadrunners knocked off the Imperial Valley Arabs (11-14), 3-2 (25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 15-25, 15-7).

COD (19-4; 7-3) wrapped up PCAC-North play with a memorable win on the road, knocking off the #12 team in the state, the MiraCosta Spartans of Oceanside (19-3; 9-1) in five-sets, 3-2 (25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 7-25, 15-11).

COD (16-4; 4-3) had an opportunity to avenge an early season loss and stay in command of their playoff future, but an injury plagued lineup and some key defensive missteps proved to be the difference, as the Roadrunners fell to the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (17-3; 6-1), 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 24-26, 25-18).

COD (15-3; 3-2) played an incredibly entertaining and hard fought game against the #15 team in the state the MiraCosta Spartans of Oceanside (15-2; 5-0), but the home side fell, 3-2 (29-27, 25-27, 25-20, 20-25 & 15-12).
