COD Women’s Volleyball shoots down the Jets, 3-0

COD (15-2; 3-1) played an easy first couple sets, then had to hold on for dear life in the third set as they swept the San Diego Miramar Jets (1-13; 0-4), 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 28-26).

This is the inaugural season of Women's Volleyball at San Diego Miramar.

Sophomore setter Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 27 assists, tied for the team lead with 11 digs and had 2 kills and sophomore outside hitter Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 6 kills and had 5 digs.

Sophomore middle blocker Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta H.S.) had 5 kills and led the team with 3 service aces and sophomore middle blocker Mckenzie Bartlett (Redmond, OR Ridgeview) had 5 kills and 2 service aces.

Sophomore libero Emily Sundback (Rancho Mirage H.S.) tied for the team lead with 11 digs and had a service ace.

The next home game for COD is against the MiraCosta Spartans of Oceanside, on Wednesday, October 17. The last time the Roadrunners knocked off the Spartans was in 1984 in Oceanside. The Roadrunners have a 1-9 record all-time against MiraCosta and a 0-5 record at home against the Spartans the match starts at 5 p.m.
