COD Women’s Cross Country sends Gallegos to the State Finals, finishes 24th

COD ran in their final team event of the 2018 season Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos for the SoCal Regional Championship, where freshman Jasmin Gallegos will represent the Roadrunners at the CCCAA State Finals.

The Roadrunners collected 649 points crossing the line with a 24th place finish and freshman Jasmin Gallegos (Indio Shadow Hills) qualifying for the CCCAA State Finals, placing 73rd overall with one second over her personal best of 2018, 20:32.

Sophomore Brandie Lopez (La Quinta H.S.) broke her previous record of 2018 with a time of 21:51, along with freshman Yesenia Velazquez-Hernandez (Thermal Desert Mirage) collecting her personal best of 26:28.

Freshman Elena Moro (Thermal Coachella Valley) finished close behind, again breaking her previous record by 00:47 seconds, taking a time of 27:05. Freshman Gladys Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) wrapped up the event for the Roadrunners while also taking her best time of the 2018 season at 27:55.
