COD Women’s Cross Country finishes 7th at Golden West Invitational, 3 finish in top-25

COD had four of five finishers grab season bests on a fast course as the Roadrunners entered their third event of the 2019 season at Central Park in Huntington Beach for the Golden West Central Park Classic, where the team finished 7th overall on the 5 kilometer course.

The Roadrunners finished with 163 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in Huntington Beach was sophomore Naibe Ruelas (Indio H.S.), collecting 15th place beating her season best by three seconds with a time of 21:18.87.

Sophomore Jasmin Gallegos (Indio Shadow Hills), who finished 23rd, collecting a time of 22:06.26 and right on Gallegos' heels was freshman Stephany Ramirez-Lopez (Cathedral City H.S.) beating her season best by 38 seconds, crossed the finish line at 22:09.08, well enough for 24th place.

Freshman Natalia Johnson (Indio Shadow Hills) collected a 43th place finish with a time of 24:13.39 also beating her season time by seven seconds, and freshman Jacqueline Garcia Rodriguez (Indio H.S.) wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 26:53.11, also beating her season best time by 66 seconds, finishing in 58th place.

Freshman Christina Peters (Cathedral City H.S.) and Sophomore Gladys Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished 59th and 65th respectively for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
